New Prospects, L.L.C. opened its doors in June of 2004 in Prospect, Connecticut. We are a family-run, hometown consignment shop with a relaxing, boutique-like atmosphere.
Our inventory includes new and previously-owned items, including name-brand clothing and accessories for women, jewelry and housewares—to name a few. Many items are NWT (New With Tag) or NWOT (New Without Tag), and we pride ourselves on the condition and high quality of our gently-worn clothing.
Shopping in our Store
Clothing Tag Sales
When you enter the store, there will be a sign posted with the clothing sales of the week. All clothing items have a colored tag, and this sign will indicate the percentages off the original prices of those tag colors. Sales ring up automatically at register. Exception to this rule would be any clothing tags that have been marked down by hand; these will reflect the final sale prices on those items.
Specials
We regularly feature store “specials” where additional discounts are taken off certain groups of merchandise. If one is running, it will be posted on the board.
White Tags
All other items in the store are tagged with white tags, and will either be marked down by hand or included in store “specials”.
We operate on a 60-day consignment period, and at any given time we are running color tag mark-downs on clothing items ranging from 10-75% off our original prices. We also have a $2 rack where you just may find that "special" bargain!Shoes & Clothing
We carry juniors through womens petite and plus-sized clothing in sizes 0-4X, including formal wear. Brand names include: ALFRED DUNNER, AMERICAN EAGLE, APRIL CORNELL, ANN TAYLOR, AVENUE, B. Our shoe sizes start from size 5 up to size 11 in widths ranging from narrow to wide. Jewelry & Accessories
We typically have a diverse selection of jewelry, purses, hats, gloves, scarves, etc. in season.
Health & Beauty
You may find current or vintage perfumes, lotions, cosmetics and the like—or perhaps a vintage vanity set, perfume decanter or a train case. Our stock varies daily, so you never know what you may find! Household Items
Our household items include gently used/new small household appliances, glassware (both vintage and contemporary) and home decor (wreaths, framed art, floral arrangements, etc.). You can also find linens such as draperies, vintage handkerchiefs, table runners, doilies, sheets and towels.
Everything Else...
We also have books, DVDs, crystal, and many other items. You just never know! Stop by often, as inventory moves in and out quickly.
